🗓️ Travel Itinerary
Day 1: Surabaya/Malang – Bromo – Bondowoso
- 00.00 AM — Pick up from the Surabaya/Malang area & ETD to Sukapura village.
- 02.30 AM — ETA Sukapura village; transfer with 4WD and ETD to Penanjakan/Kingkong Hill viewpoint.
- 03.00 AM — ETA Penanjakan/Kingkong Hill viewpoint: enjoy the sunrise & Bromo view from above 2,700 m; continue to visit Love Hill, Bromo.
- 06.00 AM—ETD to Bromo Desert.
- 06.30 AM — ETA Bromo Desert and sightseeing.
- 07.00 AM — Trekking to the Bromo crater (approximately 2 km), sightseeing, and visiting Pura Luhur Poten temple.
- 09.00 AM — ETD: Breakfast and coffee in Sukapura Village in the morning.
- 10.00 AM — ETD to the hotel in Bondowoso town (lunch on the way).

Day 2: Ijen Crater – Banyuwangi
- 00.00 AM — Check out from the hotel and ETD to Paltuding, Ijen.
- 01.30 AM — ETA Paltuding Ijen and trekking 3 km to the rim of the Ijen crater, accompanied by a local guide.
- 03.00 AM — ETA Rim of the Ijen crater, trekking down to the spot of Blue Fire, and sightseeing.
- 05.00 AM — Enjoy the sunrise and the Ijen crater view.
- 06.00 AM — Back to Paltuding for breakfast and coffee in the morning.

📖 Destination Information
A. Mount Bromo
Bromo is an active volcano in East Java, Indonesia, located in the Tengger Mountains. It is not the highest summit in the massif, standing at 2,329 meters (7,641 feet), but it is the most well-known. The area is one of East Java’s most famous tourist sites, and the volcano is part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Bromo is a Javanese pronunciation of Brahma, the Hindu god of creation. Mount Bromo is located in the “Sea of Sand” environmental reserve. Mount Bromo has erupted several times, the most recent in 2010.
B. Ijen Crater
The Ijen volcano complex is a group of composite volcanoes in East Java, Indonesia, near the Banyuwangi and Bondowoso regencies. It is notable for its blue fire, acidic crater lake, and laborious sulfur mining. The Ijen volcano, located west of Gunung Merapi, has a turquoise-colored acidic crater lake one kilometer (0.62 miles) wide. The lake is the site of a labor-intensive sulfur mining operation, in which sulfur-laden baskets are carried from the crater floor by hand. The work is well compensated in comparison to the cost of living in the area, but it is physically demanding. Workers earn about US$13 per day and must transport sulfur chunks three kilometers to the nearby Paltuding Valley to be compensated.

A. Mount Bromo
- 🧥 Dress warmly as temperatures can be cold, especially in the early morning.
- 😷 Bring a mask to protect against the volcanic ash and the sand dust from Mount Bromo.
- 💧 Bring water during trekking to Bromo crater.
- 🤝 Respect the local Tenggerese people and their customs.
B. Ijen Crater
- 🧥 Dress warmly as temperatures can be cold, especially in the early morning.
- 🔦 Bring light (headlamp/flashlight) during the 3 km trek because you’re going to face dark weather.
- 💧 Bring water during trekking to the Ijen crater.
- 🤿 Be ready to breathe in strong sulfur fumes; a gas mask will be provided by our local guide.
- ⚠️ Don’t bring property/jewelry made of gold, silver, or copper because it will be rapidly oxidized/contaminated by the sulfur.
