From pickup at hotel to drop-off at the port to Bali\, everything was perfectly organized. We had a private driver throughout the trip who always made us feel safe and comfortable – a big thank you to Hariz for his kindness and reliability. The local guides at each stop were also outstanding. At the waterfall\, Jack did a fantastic job\, and at Mount Ijen\, Janto was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. Mount Bromo has erupted several times\, the most recent in 2010. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMount Ijen \nThe Ijen volcano\, located west of Gunung Merapi\, has a turquoise-colored acidic crater lake one kilometer (0.62 miles) wide. Mount Bromo is located in the “Sea of Sand” environmental reserve. Mount Bromo has erupted several times\, the most recent in 2010. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMadakaripura waterfall \nMadakaripura Waterfall is a waterfall in East Java’s Probolinggo District. This 200-meter-tall waterfall is Java’s tallest and Indonesia’s second-tallest. This waterfall is located in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park\, specifically on the slopes of Mount Bromo. Madakaripura Waterfall is located at the end of a narrow valley and is shaped like a niche surrounded by steep cliffs that drip water as if it were raining; three of these cliffs even pour water down to form another waterfall. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nIjen crater \nThe Ijen volcano\, located west of Gunung Merapi\, has a turquoise-colored acidic crater lake one kilometer (0.62 miles) wide. The lake is the site of a labor-intensive sulfur mining operation\, in which sulfur-laden baskets are carried from the crater floor by hand. The work is well compensated in comparison to the cost of living in the area\, but it is physically demanding.
